Dazed days are here again...

Well, my finger is somewhat back together; so that is a plus. Unfortunately, it pushed the new short back slightly because it just starts to hurt like hell. Never the less, it is coming along nicely. Kind of re-wrote the script, but still has the basic premise; kind of pokes fun at how long it's been since a new cartoon came out. Starting in June you should see a bunch of toons start to come out, at least that is the goal. Added some new characters to the crew, and I am still re-doing the website. And another somewhat cool tie in to the cartoon should be coming out soon as well. Should be cool to see it all done.

Exacto takes its revenge.

So there I was, creating a mockup for a catalog to send to Japan, when suddenly with one swoop, my knife jumps off the guide and gets my finger. Pretty gross. And let me tell you, it hurt right away. It wasn't one of those delayed, "Oh my god what the fuck did I just do" type of cuts, it was HOLY FUCKING SHIT type of cut. So, I drove myself to the ER to make sure I wasn't going to loose the tip of my finger, only to be there for close to 3 hours for them to give me a band-aid.

Next day, with some more blood loss, I found myself in the walk in clinic getting stitches to make sure the two pieces get re-attached.

Right now, I am working on the final version of the script for the ADW short that will be coming out very...shortly.
Also working on some character sketches for the upcoming Halloween episode. I should have some preliminary stuff done this week, most likely next week though. I sent in some stuff to GD USA, so hopefully I will hear back soon on what the status is. Finally, I'm helping out CU's Mike Parker with some stuff for future cartoons.

The Gang is Back Together!

Big Update!
The guys who inspired the cartoon characters will now be suppling their voices for the cartoon. Originally that was the idea, but due to everyone being in different states it made it a little difficult, but now the gang is all back. This is going to be a big help for me, since I was currently doing all the animation, all the voice work and all the art.

Next week a new short / commercial will be coming out for A Daze Work!!!
( I know...it's about time. )

Also, the script is being written for the Halloween episode, and animation is pretty much done for the two new toons. Voice work to be started next week if all goes according to the plan.

I am currently getting some stuff ready so it can be published into GD USA magazine. Right now a bio section is going in; hopefully soon, and then a HUGE project that I worked on for a certain name brand watch company will be featured in one of their sections. - Just have to take a picture.

Design with Passion.

First and foremost, I live and breathe design.

This is word for word what I was told earlier today in a meeting, "...You can't put feeling into your designs, you simply don't need it." I was told not to put feeling into my work; basically don't give a shit. That is probably the dumbest thing to ever say to a designer. Don't put feeling into it. " You will get too emotionally attached."
Am I crazy but doesn't great design come from feeling/passion? If you don't give a shit about what your making, then why be a designer? Why fucking do it?! What's the fucking point?! If you're not supposed to put feeling into your work then I guess all the great painters of our time, just well wasted their time. Hey, Morrison, Joplin, Hendrix, you don't need to put any feeling behind what you do. My favorite part of all this, is that quote came from the president of the company.
